ASA classes are taught by certified instructors, guided by a proven curriculum designed to get you sailing safely and confidently. Perfect for sailing families, our classes are for students 10 years and up.

Learn to skipper a 20' - 27' sloop-rigged keelboat by day, in light to moderate winds and sea conditions. Learn basic sailing terminology, parts and functions, helm commands, basic sail trim, points of sail, buoyage, seamanship and safety including basic navigation rules to avoid collisions and hazards.

ASA 101

Learn to skipper a sloop-rigged auxiliary powered 25'-35' keelboat by day in moderate winds and sea conditions. Learn cruising sailboat terminology, basic boat systems, auxiliary engine operation, docking procedures, intermediate sail trim, navigation rules, basic coastal navigation, anchoring, weather, safety and seamanship.

ASA 103

Learn how to sail a sloop-rigged, auxiliary powered 30'-45' sailboat during a multi-day cruise upon inland/coastal waters in moderate/heavy winds and sea conditions. Learn about provisioning, boat systems, auxiliary engines, advanced sail trim, coastal navigation, anchoring / mooring, docking, emergency operations, weather, and more.

Seas the Day Sailing School is an American Sailing Association affiliate school. Our classes follow the internationally accepted standards of the American Sailing Association (ASA) and are taught by ASA Certified instructors.

Honest, a Yamaha 25

A spacious and fun little cruiser, Honest, a Yamaha 25, is where we start our ASA101 students. Learning to sail a sloop-rigged keelboat will be an experience you’ll cherish for a lifetime. And aboard Honest, you’ll fall in love with the ocean off Waikiki.

Tropic Moon, Catalina 27

Sailing vessel Tropic Moon is a Catalina 27. This versatile recreational boat is well suited for our island waters with our moderate trades and warm water. The Catalina 27 is one of the most popular boats ever built. Classified as a keelboat with a masthead sloop rig, Tropic Moon is the perfect classroom to hone your sailing skills.

Beneteau First 42s7

Sailing vessel Seas the Day was built in 1996 in France. She is a Beneteau First 42s7, designed by Bruce Farr. A fiberglass compartment sloop, she has a diesel auxiliary and three double cabins giving ample room below.

The vessel has special distinction of having a Maritime Administration (MARAD) waiver and can be used as an uninspected passenger vessel.

Seas the Day has spent most of her time in Hawaii as a charter sailboat. She is a boat that offers sailing luxury to anyone who sails with her.
